2022 Scientific Meeting  "The Science of Health Behaviors in Times of Crises"

Poster Abstract Submission - August 23-October 15, 2021

Abstract Deadline:  October 15, 2021 at 11:59 PM PDT

Notification of  Acceptance:  Dec. 6, 2021

The American Academy of Health Behavior invites you to submit your abstracts to be considered for poster presentations at the scientific meeting March 13-16, 2022 in Key Largo, Florida. This year's meeting theme is The Science of Health Behaviors in Times of Crises.Between the COVID-19 pandemic, weather disasters across the globe, civil unrest triggered by the deaths of Black men (e.g., George Floyd), and the current Afghanistan crisis, the world is responding and behaving in a way unlike ever before, particularly when it comes to health, economics, social relations, policy, and much more. It has never been more important to explore and understand the ways crises are felt at every level, and how they impact the health and well-being of individuals and communities.

General Guidelines- PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

We particularly encourage submissions that are related to the meeting theme. Abstracts related to other health behavior topics are also welcome for submission. Preference will be given to quantitative and qualitative research-based abstracts that report complete results.

Abstracts must be submitted by October 15, 2021 at 11:59 PM, Pacific Daylight Time. We welcome submissions from both members and non-members. Authors will be notified of the status of their submission(s) by December 6, 2021.

You may submit no more than 3 abstracts as first author. If you submit more than 3 abstracts as first author, you will be asked to select abstracts for withdrawal. There are no limits on co-authorship. If your abstract is accepted for presentation, it is expected that you and/or a co-author will register for the conference and be present for your session. All presenters/abstract authors will be responsible for their conference-related expenses (e.g., meeting registration). A Note about the Ongoing and Unstable COVID Situation: We recognize the COVID-19 pandemic is everchanging and brings with it challenges relative to planning for travel and conference presentation. AAHB’s planning committee is closely and continually monitoring the situation, and will update members, participants, and abstract submitters on any changes to the conference and/or its delivery. As such, we encourage you to submit your abstract proposals despite any feelings of uncertainty regarding attendance at an in-person conference. More information on our flexible withdrawal policy and registration information can be found on the website linked above.
