Call For Poster Presentation Abstracts

2021 Virtual Meeting
"Transforming the Narrative to Meet Emerging Health Behavior Challenges"

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: DEC. 11, 2020 at 11:59 P.M. PDT

The American Academy of Health Behavior invites you to submit your abstracts to be considered for poster presentations at the annual meeting throughout the month of March 2021. This year's meeting theme is Transforming the Narrative to Meet Emerging Health Behavior Challenges. In an era of fake news, a perceived war on science, and social media influencers, it has never been more important for health behavior researchers to get reliable and accurate information out to the public. This conference will focus on equipping members with the skills to transform and shape their health behavior scholarship to adapt and thrive when "new" health challenges emerge and the general narrative is confusing. The conference will showcase skills-based research and trainings that can be applied to a variety of health behaviors to make our scientific narrative more engaging and relevant.

Note: If you submitted an abstract for 2020, and selected that you would like to present for 2021, there is no need to resubmit. Your abstract has already been moved forward for presentation at this year’s conference based on your response to the October survey.

General Guidelines- PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

We particularly encourage submissions that are related to the meeting theme.  Abstracts related to other health behavior topics are also welcome for submission. Preference will be given to quantitative and qualitative research-based abstracts that report complete results. Abstracts are limited to 300 words (not including the title and author names). Please be sure to check the word count before submitting as only the first 300 words will be considered for review.

You may submit no more than 3 abstracts as the first author. If you submit more than 3 abstracts as the first author, you will be asked to select abstracts for withdrawal.  There are no limits on co-authorship.  If your abstract is accepted, it is expected that you and/or a co-author will register for the meeting.  Free Early Bird Registration for AAHB members and low registration rates for non-members.
