Idethia Shevon Harvey, DrPH, FAAHB

University of Missouri

Dr. Harvey, an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Missouri, is a leading figure in the fight against health disparities. Her research program focuses on the influence of social and cultural contexts on chronic disease and the impact of social and behavioral determinants on health disparities among rural minority adults. As a community-engaged research scholar, Dr. Harvey’s work is a testament to her unwavering commitment to collaborative partnerships with diverse communities disproportionately impacted by health disparities. Her research has significantly advanced our understanding of how cultural background shapes diabetes self-management behaviors among African American communities. Dr. Harvey’s recent NIH-funded research examined the interrelated social, environmental, and individual factors in behavioral change using innovative biomarker approaches in rural Missouri. She received her DrPH from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences.

Randolph HubachRandolph D. Hubach, PhD, MPH
Purdue University

Dr. Randolph Hubach is Professor and Head of the Department of Public Health at Purdue University. He holds a Ph.D. in Health Behavior from Indiana University’s School of Public Health and MPH from California State University, Fullerton. Early in his career, Dr. Hubach’s research and practice experiences included serving as PI on a federally funded community-based sexual health intervention project, developing managed care programs for local public health and mental health jurisdictions, and serving in leadership positions in multiple community health coalitions and planning processes. Dr. Hubach’s research interests include using community engaged principles to address sexuality-related health disparities, sexual behavior, LGBT population health, and HIV/AIDS within urban and rural communities.

Matthew RossheimMatthew Rossheim, PhD, MPH, CPH, FAAHB
University of North Texas Health Science Center

Dr. Matthew Rossheim is an Associate Professor in the College of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. His work has helped influence the development of substance use prevention and control laws and regulations from the local- to federal-level. His work focuses on the marketing of especially high-risk products often used by young people, and he is one of the nation’s leading public health experts on intoxicating cannabis-derived products (such as delta-8 THC) and “supersized” alcopops (such as Four Loko). His research has been cited in reports by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and World Health Organization (WHO), as well as featured by BBC, CNN, CBS, NBC, NPR, Washington Post, The New York Times, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
