Annie L. Nguyen, PhD, MPH

Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science

Dr. Annie L. Nguyen is an Associate Professor and Director of the Healthy Aging and Human Longevity Science Research Group in the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science (HWSPH). She earned her PhD in Public and Community Health from the Medical College of Wisconsin and her MPH from Dartmouth College. Dr. Nguyen’s research is grounded in community-centered and participatory methods and she has expertise in qualitative and mixed methods. Her research focuses on interventions and strategies that support older adults’ ability to cope with chronic conditions and circumstances that create vulnerability, so that they can age in resilient ways. She has been the Principal Investigator on grants that focus on issues around cognition, mental health, and advance care planning for older adults living with HIV, cannabis use among older adults, and reentry support for formerly incarcerated older adults. She has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and is currently an Associate Editor for the Journals of Gerontology: Psychological Sciences and Executive Editor for Health Behavior and Policy Review.


Jessica King Jensen, DrPH

Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

Dr. Jessica King Jensen (Jessie) is faculty in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a core member of the Institute for Nicotine & Tobacco Studies. Her research has spanned across cancer prevention, with a strong focus on tobacco prevention and policies. Jessie’s current research identifies the factors that make tobacco control policies and interventions effective and equitable, including characteristics of the policies, the implementation processes, and contextual factors. Jessie received her BS and MS in Health Education and Behavior and her PhD in Public Health from the University of Florida, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Tobacco Regulatory Science at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She attended her first AAHB meeting in 2016, received the Judy K Black Award in 2022, and currently serves on the professional development and awards councils.


Page Dobbs, PhD

University of Arkansas

Dr. Page Dobbs, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health. She is also a member of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences Research Program. Dr. Dobbs is a tobacco regulatory scientist focused on cancer prevention and control. As part of her career development award from the NIH, she is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law to become one of the few experts trained in both tobacco control science and law. Her scholarship spans quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods analyses of tobacco-related behaviors, perceptions, and policies, with a strong emphasis on emerging products such as e-cigarettes, vaping, and nicotine pouches. She is currently funded by the NIH, NSF, and the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office, using social media to examine tobacco control policies, addiction, and health messaging to prevent the initiation and continued use of nicotine and tobacco products among youth and young adults. Dr. Dobbs is a proud Arkansan, and when not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children (ages three and four).
