2021 Directions for Accepted Poster Abstracts
Congratulations on your acceptance for this year's AAHB Conference!
This is our first time using a virtual platform, and we very much appreciate your patience as we work on the logistics. Here are some updates as we get ready for our March conference.
If accepted, you or a co-author is expected to register for the virtual conference.
No Show Policy: Cancellations for accepted abstract presentations must be due to professional and/or personal/family emergencies and must be communicated directly to the AAHB Research Review Chair. Cancellations must be made prior to the first day of the virtual Meeting. Those in violation of this policy will be subject to a one-year probation period during which they may not present at an AAHB annual meeting.
Please direct all questions concerning abstract submission and the review process to the 2021 Research Review Committee Chair, Erika Thompson (erika.thompson@unthsc.edu).
Submitting Posters: You should have received an email from Genigraphics (instructions below). This site will host our posters. We ask that you submit your posters online by March 8th at 1PM EST. That gives all conference participants time to review posters. We are also encouraging uploading audio files with your posters since this is a feature available online.
Viewing Posters: Once the posters go live, there will be a comments feature in case you want to leave a message for a presenter and answer questions from fellow conference attendees.
Presenting Posters: On the poster submission site, you'll see that your poster is assigned a particular topic that aligns with a time slot. We ask that presenters are available during their assigned session.
Networking During Poster Sessions: As for the actual conference session, we would still like to have opportunities for networking during poster sessions - an essential component of the AAHB experience. We have set aside two conference days for posters. Below you'll see a schedule of topics per day for 30 minute sessions. Each topic breakout room will have 5-7 poster presenters available for discussion and networking. Anyone is able to join. We will share more details with Zoom links very soon.
· March 19th 3:00PM Topics: Aging, Alcohol, COVID-19-Group 1, Disparities
· March 19th 3:30PM Topics: COVID-19-Group 2, E-Cigarettes, Social Support, Substance Use
· March 23rd 3:00PM Topics: COVID-19-Group 3, Mental Health, Physical Activity, Vaccine/Prevention
· March 23rd 3:30PM Topics: Programs/Evaluation, Sexual Health, Substance Use-Group 2, Violence/Trauma, Weight/Food
