The American Academy of Health Behavior

Seeking Nominations for President-elect and Member Delegate, 2019

Dear AAHB Members,

One of my roles as President-elect is to establish candidates for the 2019 election.

In doing so, the AAHB Board is currently accepting nominations for individuals who are interested in running for one of the two open Board positions:

  • President-elect
  • Member Delegate

Both positions are 3-year terms, beginning at our 2019 annual meeting in March 2019. Details regarding position descriptions can be found at https://aahb.org/Governance_Bylaws.  Expectations include attendance on monthly Board calls and at both the mid-year in-person meeting and the annual in-person Scientific Meeting. Travel costs to these meetings are the responsibility of the individual Board members.

Nominees for all elected offices must be a Full member in good standing of the Academy. Members may self-nominate or nominate another member.

Procedures:
1. Please e-mail all nominations and self-nominations to Lara McKenzieLara.McKenzie@Nationwidechildrens.org.
2. Deadline for nominations and self-nominations is Saturday, November 24, 2018 by 5:00 pm PST.
3. All nominees will be contacted by Lara McKenzie to determine interest in running for the position.
4. Once interest has been confirmed, all nominees will be presented to the AAHB Board of Directors for approval. Approved nominees will be notified and included on the election ballot. Nomination is not equivalent to being on the ballot.

I encourage you to nominate an AAHB colleague or self-nominate if interested. It's an excellent group to be a part of -- while at the same time contributing nationally to the advancement of health behavior research!

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you!

With kind regards,

Lara McKenzie
