The American Academy of Health Behavior

Call For Poster Presentation Abstracts

2019 Annual Meeting
"Theory and Applications of Multiple Health Behavior Change"

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: September 28, 2018 at 11:59 P.M. PST

The American Academy of Health Behavior invites you to submit your abstracts to be considered for research poster presentations at the annual meeting from March 10-13, 2019 in Greenville, South Carolina. This year's meeting theme, Theory and Applications of Multiple Health Behavior Change,  recognizes that individuals engage in multiple unhealthy behaviors, such as poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, tobacco use, and alcohol and drug misuse, as opposed to any single unhealthy behavior alone. This conference will focus on theory and applications of multiple health behavior change, including discussing theoretical foundations for this direction of research, examining common influences that can impact two or more behaviors simultaneously, along with presenting design and analysis methods to develop, test, and disseminate multiple health behavior change interventions for individuals and communities.

General Guidelines- PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

We particularly encourage submissions that are related to the meeting theme.  Abstracts related to other health behavior topics are also welcome for submission. Preference will be given to quantitative and qualitative research-based abstracts that report complete results. Abstracts are limited to 300 words (not including the title and author names). Please be sure to check the word count before submitting as only the first 300 words will be considered for review.

You may submit no more than 3 abstracts as the first author. If you submit more than 3 abstracts as the first author, you will be asked to select abstracts for withdrawal.  There are no limits on co-authorship.  If your abstract is accepted, it is expected that you and/or a co-author will register for the meeting and be present for your session.

No Show Policy: Cancellations for accepted abstract presentations must be due to professional and/or personal/family emergencies and must be communicated directly to the AAHB Research Review Chair. Cancellations must be made prior to the first day of the Annual Meeting. Those in violation of this policy will be subject to a one-year probation period during which they may not present at an AAHB annual meeting.
