Call For Late-Breaker Poster Presentation Abstracts

 2018 Annual Meeting

"An Equity Approach to Health Behavior Innovations"

LATE-BREAKER SUBMISSION DEADLINE: December 8, 2017 at 11:59 P.M. PST

The American Academy of Health Behavior invites late-breaker abstracts to be submitted for research poster presentations at the annual meeting from March 4-7, 2018 in Portland, Oregon. Late-breaker abstracts are expected to report high-quality and novel research.

This year's meeting theme, An Equity Approach to Health Behavior Innovations, recognizes the influence of social and structural contexts on health and health behavior.  To achieve health equity is to attain the highest level of health for all people. Examples of broad topics related to this year's theme include:

  • A focus on underserved and socially disadvantaged populations
  • Social determinants of health
  • Tracking, measuring, and documenting health inequities
  • Etiology and root causes of inequities
  • Culturally relevant health promotion and intervention strategies
  • Multi-stakeholder approaches to eliminating health inequities
  • Access to health resources and healthcare

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

We particularly encourage submissions that are related to the meeting theme.  Abstracts related to other health behavior topics are also welcome for submission. Only quantitative and qualitative research-based abstracts that report complete results will be considered. Abstracts are limited to 300 words (not including the title and author names). Please be sure to check the word count before submitting as only the first 300 words will be considered for review.

You may submit no more than 3 abstracts as the first author INCLUDING any accepted abstracts. If you submit more than 3 abstracts as the first author, you will be asked to select abstracts for withdrawal.  There are no limits on co-authorship.  If your abstract is accepted, it is expected that you and/or a co-author will register for the meeting and be present for your session.

No Show Policy: Cancellations for accepted abstract presentations must be due to professional and/or personal/family emergencies and must be communicated directly to the AAHB Research Review Chair. Cancellations must be made prior to the first day of the Annual Meeting. Those violation of this policy will be subject to a one-year probation period during which they may not present at an AAHB annual meeting.
