Daphne Hernandez - 2016 WGRC Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award: Congratulations!

Daphne Hernandez, PhD, has been selected as the winner of the 2016 WGRC Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award in the tenure-track faculty category.  She is rapidly building a national and international reputation in research on health disparities, with focus on disparities in food insecurity and obesity by  gender and race/ethnicity.  She has published numerous articles in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals in public health and family studies.  She has been awarded two major external grants, and mentored 23 students, since joining University of Houston in August 2012. 

This award will be formally presented to Dr. Hernandez at an awards ceremony hosted by the WGRC, slated for August.  For the moment, please accept our congratulations.
